MEPs object to EU approval period extension for dimoxystrobin

The European Parliament has objected to an extension granted to the EU approval period of the fungicide, dimoxystrobin, arguing that extensions should not be granted to active ingredients that are identified as having hazardous properties. The one-year extension for dimoxystrobin and eight other ais came into force earlier this year and was granted to allow more time for slow EU procedures for renewing approvals.
