De Sangosse to debut mancozeb substitute next year

French crop protection company De Sangosse (Agen) is to launch a potassium phosphonate-based biofungicide in 2022. It says that the product will be an alternative to the fungicide, mancozeb, which is slated for phase out in the EU early next month. Dubbed DSPF 016, the formulation will be used to combat Septoria spp in wheat and mildews in potatoes. The company notes that the systemic solution will offer a novel dual mode of action that eliminates the risk of resistance, adding that it meets the overall needs of wheat at the 1-2 knot stage. The product will be made available through the company's Agronutrition portfolio and come bundled with a biostimulant solution.
