Dabaiba appoints militia leaders to foreign ministry

Amid threats and increasing calls for foreign minister Mangoush to resign in recent days, the Libyan prime minister Abdelhamid Dabaiba has appointed militia leaders as under-secretaries within her ministry.Having failed to engineer the resignation of the foreign minister Najla al-Mangoush, Misrati militia leaders have nevertheless managed to secure positions within the ministry itself. On 11 May, Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dabaiba appointed four new under-secretaries just weeks after various religious and armed groups affiliated with Turkey called on the minister to resign minister following her demand that foreign armed groups withdraw from Libyan soil (AI, 12/05/21).
