SURVEY BUSTS AUCKLAND COFFEE MYTH

If you thought Auckland folk are bigger coffee drinkers than the rest of the country, you'd be wrong. A Colmar Brunton survey late last year revealed that the citizens of New Zealand's biggest city consume less coffee, and fewer lattes, on average than Cantabrians or Wellingtonians. In fact, the survey shows not only is Auckland's coffee consumption conservative, the popularity of the latte itself is languishing well below the flat white. The survey showed Aucklanders drink an average of 2.4 coffees per day compared to 2.7 for those elsewhere in New Zealand - including Canterbury and Wellington.
