In order to be able to carry out meaningful measurements in a GTEM cell, precise knowledge of the field distribution within this cell is required. This manuscript shows the setup and procedure of a measurement to determine the electric field distribution in GTEM cells. The measurement results from an area with 196 measurement points for frequencies between 10 kHz and 6 GHz of one position in a GTEM cell are now available to everyone as open access. With the help of the dataset, theoretical field considerations can now be checked, since an analytical determination is not possible. A rotation matrix is also presented in this letter. This makes it possible to check the TEM mode conditions described in IEC 61000-4-20, which are specified for GTEM cells, without having to change the validation setup.
