World-first corporate healthcare initiative

Employees of pharmaceutical company GSK and their families are being offered a new "world-first" healthcare initiative which will see them provided with free access to up to 40 preventative health services. Under the multimillion-dollar scheme, employees and their family members will be screened, immunised and treated for a range of conditions not currently funded by New Zealand's public health services or insurers. GSK describes it as a world first because no one else has tried this sort of global preventive programme anywhere, and not the disease prevention aspect.
