Price talks on the Italian magazine paper market wrapped up during February

Negotiations have now drawn to a close on Italy's magazine paper market. Prices for deliveries in the first three or six months of the year were set in stone in February, and more than a few producers could not have been happy with the outcome. By contrast, no breakthrough happened on the newsprint market in February. Both sides are hoping that the current round of price discussions can be concluded soon. Kraftliner producers and buyers will be talking about higher prices soon as well. Price hikes to the tune of ?50/t look to be on the cards for deliveries from 1 April onwards. Recycled corrugated case material and graphic paper prices showed a downward trend in February. Market players active in the recovered paper and cartonboard sectors reported unchanged prices in the second month of 2014.
