Stronger potential for financial returns has pushed soybeans to the top of the crop option list for 2015. But corn has hardly been pushed to the back burner, according to USDA's March 31 Prospective Plantings report. Soybean acres are predicted to reach a record high-84.6 million. Yet, corn acres are forecast at 89.2 million, down 2% from this past year. If realized, 2015 would mark the third consecutive year of an acreage decline.
