Amarante and Geos aim to snatch EU protectioncontract from Septimius

The leading security firms working in Libya covet the $20m contract to protect the European Uniondelegation there which until now has been in the hands of Septimius Security.The top private security companies in Libya had beenwaiting for months for this vast contract to come up forrenewal. After being extended by four months, until theend of October, the job of securing the European Uniondelegation in Libya is back on the table. For the timebeing, it is being carried out by the Irish-based company Septimius Security , which was awarded the contract in anegotiated procedure (without a public tender) last July(AI, 24/08/21 ), for €3.6m. The estimated value of thenew three-year assignment is €20.05m. It covers bothpersonnel and equipment to protect the premisesoccupied by the European Union in Palm City, on theoutskirts of Tripoli, as well as Ambassador Jose AntonioSabadell and his staff when they travel.
