摘要

Experimental investigations of aerosol surface chemistry and gas-particle interactions are important for a better understanding of aerosol effects on atmospheric chemistry and physics, climate, and public health. Depending on the types of gases, particles, and interactions to be studied, different kinds of reaction vessels and measurement techniques are required for aerosol process studies [1]. Long-term experiments (hours to days) are usually performed in big polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) bags [2], glass or metal chambers [3-5]. Processes occurring on short time scales (seconds to minutes) are mostly performed in flow tubes made of the materials named before [4,5]. Here, we present a compact flow tube system that allows to investigate the interaction of highly toxic and corrosive gases and aerosol particles under well-defined and controlled conditions.
