摘要

Using 19-kDa zein mRNA from developing grain of normal and opaque-2 maize, the similarity of mRNA differential degradation in vivo (under complete inhibition of transcription by actinomycin) and in vitro (during affinity chromatography and storage of RNA in liquid nitrogen) was demonstrated. Illumination of spring wheat seedlings caused a three-fold increase in the stability of waxy mRNA in vitro. Data obtained suggest that highly purified RNA preparations from different plant tissues contain protein RNases [ribonucleases] associated with mRNA and responsible for differential degradation of polyA-mRNA. This work offers new procedures for studying post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression.
