Preparing a bouquet holder: Covering the back of a bouquet holder with leaves can be done well ahead of the wedding--for example, the Tuesday or Wednesday before a weekend wedding. Here we're using hedera leaves, but the same technique works with other foliages, such as galax or small fatsia leaves. Place the holder on your worktable face down. The task is easier if the foam is still dry. Squeeze some floral adhesive onto the underside of the holder and around the perimeter. Cut the stem of a leaf toabout an inch; put a semicircle of glue on the back of the leaf and insert the stem into the foam through one of the apertures in the holder. Continue in this fashion, inserting leaves all around the outside of the holder. Finish with two leaves that you have notched at the stem so they fit tightly around the handle. Once the glue sets, soak the holder by placing it upside down in a designer dish or similar receptacle.
