Al smelters see power rate rising significantly

The power rate for Chinese aluminum smelters have risen more or less as China began to implement the new electric power policy for the aluminum industry from June 15 in order to curb the overinvestment, protect environment and enhance energy utilization efficiency in the industry. According the new power policy for Chinese primary aluminum industry, the industry will pay more 3.0-4.0 bullion yuan (36.3-48.4 million US dollars) each year due to the increased power rate.
