Minmetals says alumina demand from smelters exceeds its supply

In the "2005 Imported Aluminum Conference" held in Sanya city of Hainan province on December 12, 4, domestic smelters had signed some alumina letters of intent with China Minmetals Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd(Minmetals), and the total demand under the contracts is more than the Minmetals's total supply. The meeting was organized by Minmetals and nearly 200 delegates from over 80 Chinese aluminum smelters took part in the meeting.
