Chalco begins construction of alumina refinery in Zunyi, Guizhou

Construction of a Greenfield alumina refinery with nameplate capacity of 800,000tpy started at Zunyi city of Guizhou province on April 21, sources a close to the situation said. With a total investment of 4.2 billion yuan(USD523 million), the alumina refinery is scheduled to come on stream in the first half of 2009.
