Healthcare Innovation in a Post COVID-19 world

What was once considered a slow and steady pace for telehealth adoption is now a sprint. Healthcare organizations have had to innovate rapidly to meet the challenges of the current environment. We recently sat down with the Spectrum Enterprise manager of healthcare programs, Theresa Dudley, to get her thoughts about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on IT innovation. What are your clients' biggest challenges and needs in this present crisis? The most obvious need and challenge is to figure out how healthcare organizations (HCOs) continue to serve their patient population through this entirely unprecedented time and then scale that response. The answer has largely been various forms of telehealth, but only about a quarter of U.S. HCOs had an existing virtual care program in place prior to the pandemic. That left many to make decisions pretty quickly about how they would support telehealth.
