Working with my manager David Kinsey, my team has the job of putting into place the new Welt-managed Highway Infrastructure code of practice and the Well Managed Highway Liability Risk guidance. Between us - a team of three technicians and six highway inspectors - there is a wealth of experience and skills (and a mixture of apprehension and enthusiasm). We also have consultant support through XAIS Asset Management, a calming influence over proceedings. We have worked closely with the highway inspectors who pound the streets of Derby every day. Getting involvement from grassroots upwards is key to full participation and buy-in from those whose way of work will change the most.
