Trying to make sense of highways and transport in the UK

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know that I am a huge fan of cargobikes, possibly to the extent that I am obsessed with them. My preoccupation extended to acquiring a splendid pre-loved Christiania tricycle last year and while it hasn't become my family's main form of wheeled transport, it has certainly replaced some local car-based journeys where carrying a couple of kids or a bags of cement is the order of the day. As a designer, the experience of piloting this wonderful piece of engineering (which is 2.1m long and 0.85m wide) is completely different from riding a standard bicycle. It has given me a whole new awareness of the space required to make cycling infrastructure truly accessible to all.
