We recruited new technical specialists and content specialists who assist them in writing clear sentences that can be understood by general designers, who use the documents to develop our road schemes. Another big area is in our new software systems. We have a Collaborative Authoring and Review System (CARS), which enables multiple authors to work on the same documents at the same time and control the formatting. So if they want to insert a requirement they press a button and the system inserts a new section, controls the formatting and checks for the use of the correct verb forms. Advice and notes are also inserted and checked in a similar way.
