US miners cut coking coal output on poor demand

In 2012, some US mining companies (Arch Coal, Alpha Natural Resources, Cliffs Natural Resources and Patriot Coal) intend to produce 38.7-41.1 mt of coking coal, comparing with the previously expected 41.1-45.4 mt. A total capacity of these companies reaches 53.2 mtpy. Many suppliers have to reduce production in view of weaker global demand.
