Electric Vehicles (EVs) are becoming a common sight on our roads and they are set to become the new normal with the Government intending to ban the sale of new fossil fuel vehicles. There are already more than half a million ultra low emission vehicles now registered on UK roads, according to Department for Transport statistics. The growth of EVs has produced many innovative ideas about the best way to deliver the charging infrastructure needed to support them and progress is being made on public charging points. Acording to Zap-Map there are now more than 26,000 chargepoints in the UK of varying speeds. EV owners who have their own driveway may be able to recharge at home and benefit from the convenience and cost savings that come with it. On the flip side, approximately 37% of urban motorists park on the street and will need access to public charging points when they make the switch to an EV.
