How does your career development and mentoring programme work?We identified within Kier Highways that we didn't have visibility of the pipeline of talent that was coming through to be our leaders of the future. We wanted to ensure that the talent of the future was developing and we have a good insight into who they are.We already have great programmes in Kier for management development so we didn't need to reinvent those.The programme we have developed is in three stages:1) Understand yourself - three modules focusing on the individual.2) Reaching your full potential - a career conversation, individual development plan and working with a mentor.3) Gaining wider exposure - working on a business-wide improvement project.We have just over 100 participants working through the programme.
