A289 work has contractors at the ready

Walker Construction and Southampton-based R&W Civil Engineering are among the contractors in the running for an ￡11m package of improvements on the A289 at Chatham in Kent for Medway Council. The project will improve the capacity at the Four Elms, Sans Pareil and Anthony's Way roundabouts, which connect the A289 with the A228. The Sans Pareil and Anthony's Way roundabouts are particularly prone to congestion and in addition to easing traffic flows, the work will add capacity ahead of planned developments on the Hoo Peninsula, Kingsnorth and Grain.
