1.AE Yates, I&H Brown, Fitzgerald Contractors, Fox Owmby, Ringway and Ashbourne-based Whitehouse Construction are bidding for a ￡3m contract to link the A52 with a new business park at Ashbourne in Derbyshire for the county council. The stretch of highway will connect Airfield Industrial Estate with the A52 Derby Road via a new signalised junction. Work is expected to start in September and will take around six months to complete. 2.Galliford Try, the UK arm of John Sisk and nmcn are pursuing a ￡2m job with Kirklees Metropolitan Borough Council to carry out a package of improvements to the A616 Lockwood Road in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The work comprises realigning the Lockwood Bar junction between Lockwood Road and Albert Street. Consultants SCP Transport are advising on the scheme, which is due to start in February with work expected to take eight months to complete.
