摘要

2021 SEP 21 (NewsRx) - By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Disease Prevention Daily - New research on Proteins - Lipoproteins is the subject of a report. According to news reporting originating in St. Louis, Missouri, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, "Variants in Apolipoprotein L1 (ApoL1) are known to be responsible for increased risk of some progressive kidney diseases among people of African ancestry. ApoL1 is an amphitropic protein that can insert into phospholipid membranes and confer anion-or cation-selective permeability to phospholipid membranes depending on pH." Financial support for this research came from National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
