Marks & Spencer (M&S) has backed its decision to sell a 500ml bottle of hand sanitiser for £11.50 in stores during the coronavirus pandemic. After receiving criticism from consumers over the cost of the Belux gel, the department store retailer told Cosmetics Business that the hand hygiene product is "competitively priced" at £2.30 per 100ml, which is 30p more than the own-brand M&S version.
