Forecast of FeCr consumption in Russia

Russia's Cr alloy requirement will stay largely unchanged in 2019 at the previous year's level of about 62,000 t. In 2020, it may rise by 2% thanks to expected increase in stainless flats and longs production as well as stable output of alloyed steel.Prices for stainless steel products in Russia continued falling in Q3. Imports dropped by 11% y-o-y over 9 months. Over the same period, apparent consumption of stainless steel in Russia declined by 6% to 272,000 t. Domestic producers of stainless steel managed to raise the output by 6% to 64,700 t.
