Metal Expert estimates in 2011 the capacity of the Russian market for steelpipes will hit a new high for the last few years reaching 9.5 mt (up 5% y-o-y).The rise will be equally related to a demand growth in oil and gas andconstruction sectors. An upturn in consumption of small- and medium-sizedwelded pipes will continue in 2012, at a much slower pace though. A decreasein total consumption, down 5% to 9.1 mt, will be caused by changes in thesegment of large diameter pipes. Upon the completion of a number of pipelineprojects, purchases of these pipes will be slashed by one fourth.
