Listeners to Radio 1's Chris Moyles Show were on the receiving end of some unexpected safety advice last month after a driver parked on the hardshoulder of the motorway - just to take part in a phone-in competition. Highways Agency Traffic Officers Allen Nowak and Grant Allan, both based at the Samlesbury outstation in Lancashire, were on a routine rush-hour patrol of the M6 two weeks ago when they discovered a driver using a mobile telephone in the hard shoulder between Junctions 27 and 26 of the M6 near Wigan.
