Councillors could get highways cash

Every county councillor could be given ￡10,000 to spend on local highways projects under plans being drawn-up by Gloucestershire County Council. The move is part of the council's Highways Your Way scheme which is aimed at making services more local. The council is looking to expand the scheme to include a two-year pilot, Highways Local - a ￡10,000 pot for each county councillor to spend on projects in their division.
