CMA CGM to bunker LNG in Shanghai

CMA CGM has signed a framework agreement with Shanghai International Port Group to fuel part of its transpacific fleet, which can run on liquefied natural gas. The service will be provided to the French carrier's dual-fuel 15,000 teu ships at the Yangshan Deepwater Port using a 20,000 cu m newbuilding LNG bunker vessel, said the operator of the world's busiest container port. It added that the move is part of the efforts to develop Shanghai into a "green port", which fits the country's aims to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050.
