With government encouragement, South Korea's market for foreign technology has expanded rapidly in recent decades. The authorities have liberalised the approval process for licensing agreements and have taken other steps to encourage inflows of technology and commercial know-how. To facilitate technology trade, the government-operated Korea Technology Transfer Centre provides a marketplace for technology sellers and buyers.
