BACKGROUND: The use of frameless stereotactic robotic technology has rapidly expanded since the Food and Drug Administration's approval of the Robotic Surgical Assistant (ROSA (TM)) in 2012. Although the safety and accuracy of the ROSA platform has been well-established, the introduction of complex robotic technology into an existing surgical practice poses technical and logistical challenges particular to a given institution.
