It is important to appreciate the role of the public sector in the delivery of Canberra's public landscape from 1913 to 2013. The national capital would never have been created without continuing Australian government action over the last one hundred years. Various Australian government departments and special purpose bodies were involved, including the Federal Capital Commission (FCC), 1925-1930; the National Capital Development Commission (NCDC), 1958-1989; and the National Capital Planning Authority, now National Capital Authority (NCA), 1989 to present.
