SAIL seeks developer/operator for 4 million mt open cast mine

Steel Authority of India Ltd. is seeking out a developer and operator for a 4 million mt/year open cast coal mine. A consultant is also being appointed to help select a developer and operator for a partially underground mine. Sail plans to increase captive coal output to increase the annual steel output by 10.5 million mt/year to 24.5 million mt/year by 2010 from 14 million mt in the 2008 March-end fiscal year.
