It's been roughly 40 years since "Zinc Chloride" based soldering fluxes were being used by radiator manufactures for making copper/brass cores for the re-core aftermarket, and by OEM's for producing copper/brass complete radiators. The chemical Zinc Chloride (ZnCI2) is commonly mixed with certain other ingredients to form highly effective "inorganic chloride" type fluxes that are used in many industrial soldering applications worldwide.
