WASHINGTON - New technology clean diesel track engines and emissions control is now at a 30 percent level according to new research commissioned by the Diesel Technology Forum. Decades of work on reducing diesel emissions has ushered in a host of diesel engine technologies including advanced combustion controls, diesel oxidation catalysts, exhaust gas recirculation, turbochargers, charge-air-coolers, diesel particulate filters, and selective catalytic reduction systems. And, as difficult and costly as these efforts have been to truck manufacturers, truck owners and consumers, they are working to clean the air.
