New York orders another round of renewables

New York state is seeking another 4,000MW of renewable energy capacity, the largest combined solicitation in the US to date, to help meet its clean energy goals. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) yesterday opened solicitations for up to 2,500MW of offshore wind capacity and over 1,500MW from land-based renewable energy projects in a bid to answer the growing requirements of the state’s clean energy mandate.
