Metal futures: Markets mixed on anxiety

Base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) were mixed, with LME copper prices edging down as some investors took profits following recent sharp increases on supply fears and economic uncertainty. The copper market has taken additional strength from various supply developments prompted by the Covid-19 pandemic, such as Chilean miner Codelco's decision to temporarily halt smelting operations at its Chuquicamata Division and its expansion projects at the El Teniente mine.
