Cuba's nickel and cobalt production fell by 10.1pc year on year to 12,908t in first quarter 2020, according to consolidated data from the island's mining ministry and Canadian mining company Sherritt International. The first quarter production indicates the island will have difficulty reaching a 2020 target of 53,000t forecast in January by economy minister Alejandro Gil.
