Vietnam's Hoa Phat Group has signed a VND 35 trillion (USD1.5 billion) credit contract with eight commercial banks to fund the construction of Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Production Complex in Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai province, Metal Expert learnt from the company's statement. Basically, the project requires the overall investments in the amount of VND 85 trillion (USD 3.7 billion). The company has already signed a contract with Danieli for the supply of two blast furnaces with a nominal capacity of 2.5?2.8 million tpy each. Primetals Technologies was chosen as a supplier of two slab casters (6 million tpy of 230 mm thick and 900?1,650 mm wide slabs) and a 5.5 million tpy hot strip mill (1.2?25.4 mm thick and 900?1,650 mm wide HRC).
