Compressor Companies Half Production

Nearly all compressor manufacturers in China have reduced production by 50% in the last few months of 2008. "We have encountered the worst depression since 1995," said an officer from a leading compressor company. The Panasonic-Wanbao Compressor (Guangzhou) Company, Highly, Meizhi, and the Mitsubishi Electric (Guangzhou) Compressor Company produce about 60% of the compressors made in China. From October, all four companies have halved their production. The former average output of the four companies was 800,000 to 900,000 units each month, however, that figure was reduced to less than 400,000 units during the last three month of 2008.
