In the interest of conserving the earth's environment, the adoption rate of various types of 'green' energy, including solar, geothermal, and wind power generation as well as fuel cell cogeneration, is accelerating. Amid this trend, attempts to create homes that provide self-sufficient energy generation are now underway. As reported in the July 2010 issue of JARN, Daikin Europe has begun the Net Zero Energy Project. Trial experiments of houses providing energy self-sufficiency are also underway in Japan.
