China's tungsten concentrate output fell in 2020 following cuts in the country's largest production hub of Jiangxi province because of Covid-19 lockdowns, lower ore grades and heavy rainfall. The country produced 138,612t of tungsten concentrate containing 65pc tungsten trioxide in 2020, down by 5.31pc from 146,380t a year earlier, data from the China nonferrous metals industry association show. Output in Jiangxi fell to 52,598t in 2020 from 60,928t a year earlier. Output from another production hub, Hunan province, rose to 47,522t from 44,426t over the same period, with output in Henan province down to 17,011t from 18,219t. Combined output in Jiangxi and Hunan accounted for 72pc of China's total production for tungsten last year.
