Nornickel metals output falls in 1Q

Russian mining group Norilsk Nickel's (Nornickel) metals production fell on the year in the first quarter, but the company maintained its 2020 guidance. The group has not yet suffered any adverse impact to its output from the Covid-19 outbreak, it said in its production results statement yesterday. It consequently maintained full-year guidance for nickel and copper output at 225,000-235,000t and 420,000440,000t, respectively. The guidance ranges for palladium and platinum were flat at 2,648-2,777koz and 611-675koz.
