China's manganese ore imports are expected to fall in the coming months, pressured by coronavirus-related mining shutdowns in South Africa and falling alloy output. Large mining companies in South Africa, including diversified resources firm South32 and Tshipi, have placed their mining operations on care and maintenance after the government announced a 21-day lockdown from 26 March to 16 April to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
