China's Changyuan stops Fesi production

Chinese producer of ferro-alloys Changyuan Special Silicon has stopped ferro-silicon production because of limited profits. The Qinghai-based firm has raised silicon-barium output to 1,500 t/month from 750 t/month by operating two furnaces, after it halted its 50t/month of ferro-silicon output last week, as lower tender prices from steelmakers and weak demand from consumers limited profits.
