US Ni: Premiums flat as demand outlook dims

US nickel spot market trading activity has slowed due to weakening consumer demand from domestic stainless steel consumers and a projected global nickel surplus for the year. Nickel premiums for full truckload melting grade, 4x4inch cathodes were assessed at 25-30￠/lb, while premiums for full truckload plating grade, 1x1inch cathodes assessed at 45-55￠/lb, both unchanged from the week prior.
