China: Silicon, lithium prices rise

An expected fall in spot availability during south China's dry winter season has continued to support the silicon market, while steady demand from the battery electric vehicle industry lifted lithium carbonate prices. Prices were flat across other minor metal markets amid low trading activity and sufficient supplies. The yuan rose to 6.627 against the US dollar today from 6.697 on 3 November and 6.723 a week earlier.
