Hydro expands Deeside recycling cap

Norwegian aluminium producer Norsk Hydro will invest ?2.4mn to raise the capacity of its Deeside recycling plant in the UK, as it aims to double the amount of post-consumer aluminium scrap recycling the company undertakes by 2025. Primary aluminium producers like Hydro are targeting more scrap usage to lower their power footprint, while new technologies have allowed them to source lower grades of scrap than in years past.
